Memphis - Great Town, Great People!

The area around Memphis, Tennessee, is commonly referred to as the Mid-South region of the United States. A Regional Hub for the Entire Mid-South

Memphis is very easy to navigate, featuring an interstate ring around the city and a larger ring being built around the metro area. Jackson, TN, is located on Interstate-40, about 80 miles northeast of Memphis, making traveling between the cities easy, fast, and convenient. Jackson offers a “small-town” feel while providing “big-city” advantages, such as several institutions of higher education and major employers.

What Makes Memphis So Special

The Mid-South features a warm climate, with mild winters and a comfortable spring and fall. While we do get a bit of snow every winter, it is usually just enough to build a snowperson before it melts. Summers can be very warm, but they usually also include many sunny days, with only the occasional cloud.

Memphis is the fifth-most populous city in the Southeast, the nation's 28th-largest overall, and the largest city bordering the Mississippi River

The region is a leading commercial and industrial city, with several large employers, including FedEx, AutoZone, the US government

Memphis also boasts a long culinary legacy dominated by regional barbecue, winning thousands of awards and 10 World Championships.

Memphis is a well-known music center and has been the home of what we know as modern American music. Soul, gospel, rhythm and blues, rock 'n' roll, and other genres of music.

Memphis supports cultural and sports entertainment, including a symphony orchestra, ballet troupe, and opera company, as well as basketball’s Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis has the second lowest cost of living in the U.S. Housing costs in Memphis are 30.3% below the national average.
